We need someone who can work with us Fridays to take photos of kids as they are triaged in the computer registration area of the clinic. We will provide a laptop or computer for you to use to upload the photos, or you can take the work home with you to upload if you prefer. Ideally, you have a camera that you can use, but if not, we can make arrangements to provide one.

  • Must be able to keep a clear, correct record of the photos and the name and ID of the patient.
  • Must be able to scale the photos to no larger than 640x480 JPEG

  • Must be able to attend the clinic starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Ensenada.
  • Must not be distracted by other duties during the clinic.
  • Must be punctual, and able to attend clinics in Mexico on a regular basis.

Surgery Data Entry

We are looking for one or two persons who are exceptionally good with computers, in particular with using the Internet, to help enter surgery and medical history data for patients during the clinic. The source of this data is a medical history form filled in by patients when the register with us on Fridays, and Surgery data filled in by surgeons on Saturday after surgeries are complete. We prefer someone who is able to do this work during the weekend of the clinic, but some of this can be taken home and done immediately after the clinic if necessary (sometimes, the internet connection will be down at the hospital, requiring the data to be entered at a later time).

You will be asked to enter in appoximately 100 medical history forms obtained on Friday, and anywhere from 15 to 20 surgery-related forms obtained on Saturday. Expect about 4 to 5 hours of work, which can be done at your own pace during the day, but hopefully completed before the last surgery patient is discharged Saturday evening.

For a description of the work involved, please see: [4]

Requirements:

  • Must be detail oriented.
  • If a form is illegible (remember, Doctors are filling in these forms :-) you must be willing to hunt down the surgeon and get clarification.
  • Must be respectful of the nurses and doctors performing the surgeries.
  • Must be comfortable working in a hospital environment.
  • Must have a passion for accuracy.
  • Must be great with computers, and the Internet, and be able to search for the patient in the database, and use our system to enter data into the database.
  • Must be able to attend the clinic starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in Ensenada.
  • Must not be distracted by other duties during the clinic.
  • Must be punctual, and able to attend clinics in Mexico on a regular basis.
  • Must be willing to ask questions when something doesn't seem right.
